Kentuckiana College Access Center - Background
The KentuckianaWorks College Access Center (KCAC) has provided free educational, financial aid,
and career counseling services to adults and youth in Greater Louisville since 1977. The
Center is sponsored by Kentuckiana Works, a business-led workforce investment board that oversees workforce development initiatives in the Greater Louisville region. Primary funding for the Center comes from the U.S. Department of Education, TRIO Programs.
Our Vision
The Greater Louisville region will be home to a skilled and educated workforce whose qualifications give our community a competitive advantage in our efforts to make this region the nation's next "economic hotspot."
Our Mission
To provide Greater Louisville's youth and adults, particularly those that are underrepresented in higher education, the information and resources necessary to achieve their post-secondary educational goals.
KCAC Goals:
- To exceed our federal performance objectives, as well as be responsive to our broader community goals.
- To develop and promote a comprehensive system of educational support services for all citizens, (with primary focus on low-income, first-generation college students, and other underrepresented groups), enabling them to pursue and complete post-secondary education and training.
- To support the development of a qualified and employable workforce through effective career counseling of youth and adults interested in post-secondary education.
- To work with a collaborative network of representatives from various sectors of the community who are committed to assisting youth and adults in pursuing their educational goals.
- To create a network and referral system to maintain open lines of communication with post-secondary institutions.
- To seek additional funding to support the growth of KCAC.
